DESIGN CHALLENGE
Create compelling full-page and half-page advertisements for Viewpoint, PLNU’s magazine published each semester. These ads should strategically engage PLNU alumni, staff, and current and prospective students by reflecting the university’s values and brand identity. Utilize strong visuals, engaging typography, and clear messaging to capture attention and drive interest. Ensure the designs align with Viewpoint’s editorial style while maintaining a fresh and dynamic aesthetic.
CREATIVE SOLUTION
I designed a series of targeted advertisements across four issues of the magazine, each tailored to specific audiences. The first used graduation imagery to encourage alumni and donors to contribute to student scholarships. The second promoted Viewpoint with a cozy, inviting scene. The third marketed PLNU employment opportunities, showcasing campus beauty. The final ad targeted prospective students, invited them to schedule a tour, and highlighted the university’s stunning coastal views. Each used strategic design, emotional appeal, and cohesive branding to effectively engage its audience.
